[ On the 24th, Rui will find a gift basket of sorts left by the front door of his place. In it is a large bouquet of geraniums, some treats from Moondrop, and a very soft and cute platypus plushie.

There's also a card that reads: ]

Rui-kun, happy birthday! I'm happy to have met you here. And I'm looking forward to creating a brand new stage with you, and showing all of Ellipsa the shows only we can put on.

[Rui is surprised to see the gift basket. He reads the card and smiles. He puts the flowers in a vase and picks up the plushie before pulling out his phone and texting his friend.]

Early Oct, The Pollen Season

[Prism Lake is one that he hasn't gotten the chance to visit, and when he finally arrives, he wishes he'd of made the trip sooner. The beauty of the sun reflecting off of the water's surface is a sight to behold, radiating as beautifully as the sun itself. He can even see spot the different colored fish in the lake from time to time, and makes a note to come back here again when he's not doing something for pay- it's a great spot for just a visit to get away from the mundane life in the city.

But he's also here to do a job, and it's best to start. But before he gets the chance, he notices someone with a drone of sorts...he's still getting used to technology here, but at least it's not really weird for him to see a device like that at this point. He walks over, peering at the device, but also doesn't he know this guy...?]

Huh! Interesting...if you don't mind me asking, what's this for?

[Childe seems genuinely intrigued, seems like something a science dude from the Akademiya would make or the Doctor...]

[Rui chuckles, less at Childe's question and more at the joy of being able to talk about what he is doing. He loves to share his interests with anyone who will listen.]

I've come by to gather jars of pollen for a quest, However, there are supposed to be aggressive wasps around. Well...Wasps survive off of the sugars in pollens and nectars so!

[Rui sets the drone down on the ground and pulls out a remote control.]

I have filled a compartment in this drone with sugar water- [He points to a closed off section of the drone.] right here- and when I'm ready, I'll have it open and fly off, hopefully, leading the wasps away so that I can safely gather the pollen. There's even an auto pilot feature that will allow it to move without me telling it to!

If you're out here too, does that mean you're on the same quest?

[He was warned about the wasps. Rainbow Wasps is what they were called, but for a man who's faced down countless horrors in the Abyss, what are a bunch of wasps going to do? Famous last words.]

You don't mind if I accompany you, would you? I am doing the very same, and it's like the old Ellipsa saying- two pairs of hands are better than one.

[Rui will get a seashell and a stack of completely random CDs that somehow can still be made to blend into each other despite different genres.]

Rinku gets a small toy robot that dances to music in response.]

[Lately, Tsukasa has been spending a lot more time at Wonder✩Blooming, even more than he used to. It's practically become his second home. Maybe his primary home, given that he's been napping there more and more frequently? Today being a perfect example. Tsukasa doesn't realize his eyelids have become heavy or shut. He doesn't notice himself sinking his head into the pile of fabric he's been working on sewing as it becomes a makeshift pillow.

He drifts off there, waiting for Rui. He needs to ask him how he can help. What he can do.

It's weird. It's hard for him to wrap his head around, that senpai and senpai's husband aren't there. They simply returned to their world. Rui will have his hands full, so he...he has to help him...

Tsukasa's loud snores fill the the entire theatre.]

[Rui has been running errands almost nonstop today. Trying to keep Wonder✩Blooming afloat without his more experienced friend has been difficult to say the least. He's still not sure what to think about Tsumugi and Kazunari being gone, so he does his best to push it to the back of his mind. They're in the past now, and looking back will not help him. He finally is able to make it back to the theater with his arms full and a half finished to do list. When he gets inside, he hears the loud snoring, and immediately recognizes it as Tsukasa's. When he sees him asleep on the fabric, he's filled with this odd warm feeling. He doesn't know how well he'd be able to keep the theater open without all the help he's been providing. He does his best to put what he bought away quietly, his soft smile slowly becoming mischievous as he does so. Yes, perhaps his friend is just what he needed today. When he's done with his task, he taps Tsukasa on the shoulder.]

Sleeping while sewing? I didn't realize there was such a technique. You must truly be talented to be able to do such a thing, Tsukasa-kun. And to have the confidence to do it with the theater's resources no less~

AH--!

[Tsukasa starts from his rest, back stiff as a rod and eyes wide and alert. It takes him longer for his mind to play catch-up, but when he does his cheeks flush with embarrassment. Had he fallen asleep?!

He doesn't notice the stray piece of thread that's gotten tangled in his hair, or the bits of glitter stuck to his face. Rui is hard at work as usual, and here he is, dozing off. That won't do!]

I see that I convinced you. Are you impressed by-- [His smug smile is hidden by a yawn.] My sleeping act?

[Yuletide gift time! Rinku sends Rui a seashell and a nice water bottle with a sun design on it.]

[Rui is going to display the seashell on a shelf and due to how active he is, the water bottle will most definitely be seeing some use before too long.

For Rinku, Rui gives a small, round robot that could fit on one hand. It's little more than toy compared to some of his creations, but he's hoping the concept is cute enough for Rinku to appreciate. It can roll itself around, wave its arms, and play music from a flash drive (the drive goes into its head and its supposed to look like a mohawk).]

[ It's strange. For Tsumugi, no time has passed between his honeymoon with Kazunari and now. But knowing just how many months have passed here... well. He can't help but think about everyone he'd left behind, and all the trouble his disappearance must've caused them.

So he immediately heads to Stormreach, navigating familiar streets until he finds himself in front of Wonder✩Blooming Stage. The relief he feels is indescribable. He wouldn't have blamed Rui if it weren't around - he knows firsthand just how hard it is to keep a theater alive - but... it would've been sad to see it gone. After all, it's something they built together, an eternal stage they could stand upon, side by side, and alongside others like them that'd been summoned to this world as well.

He steps inside, and calls out into a space that he's confident isn't empty: ] Rui-kun?

[There is always work to be done here, especially since he's doing most of it himself now as he doesn't want to ask too much of the only other member of the troupe. And when there is work to be done, Rui is here doing it. Definitely only to maintain the theater he created with Tsumugi, and not to run and hide from any emotions that might get in his way. Today he's working on maintaining the sound system in the theater. He's so engrossed in his work that he almost misses someone calling for him. The voice is familiar, but...It couldn't be. Rui rushes out onto the stage, clad in bright jumpsuit and hair in a tiny ponytail. He stares at Tsumugi for a moment, mouth open.]

...Tsumugi-kun? You're back?

[tsumtsuki]

I am.

[ It's not a dream! He's really here!! And he'll prove it by making his way up onto the stage, to stand before his dear friend with a gentle smile. ]

It's good to see you again, Rui-kun.

[Rui will receive a large handmade chocolate seashell with edible glitter on top!]

[He wasn't really expecting a gift.]

That looks nearly too pretty to eat~

[He will eat it though. In return, he has a box of also handmade, animal shaped chocolates. While he doesn't enjoy cooking or baking, he is decent at it.]

[Joke's on him, Rinku didn't expect a return gift and the resulting Happy Around is heard down the street.]

[Good morning, Rui.

Maybe he's at home, or maybe spent all day and night working again, but either way, one morning he'll hear the faint sounds of circus music playing outside.

Rinku is standing out there in a bright clown dress, with every robot Rui's ever given her milling around her: the lion nuzzling her side, the dancing one keeping time while the music-player one plays the BGM, and the Bedtime Bot hovering and ready to recite lines.

Rinku begins.]

Donchaka, puppuku, rapapa!
A clown and her fairy friends invite you to a merry dream.
Donchaka, puppuku, rattatta!
Now, then, everyone, thank you for waiting. The fun show is about to begin!

[Rinku twirls and bows to the empty sidewalk. It is way too early for this.]

All right, all right! We've got someone in the audience right over there!

[The Bedtime Bot lights up to recite.]

We bring in people every night to repaint their nightmares into happy dreams. Impressive. You could just leave them be and go have fun.

Oh, fairy! If you're going to dream every night, it's better to have a fun one, right? All right, let's do our best today too!

[She winks up at the window.]

[Rui wakes up to the circus music, and heads over to the window. He opens it up when he sees Rinku. As he watches her perform, he wonders if he's still asleep. It's a slightly too mundane for this to be one of his dreams though.]

Rinku~

[The tone of his voice is fond, even if he hasn't woken up enough for his signature smile yet. Still, he's not one to sit out on a show, so he speaks up after a moment.]

Dear clown! You say you can repaint nightmares? What's the fee? I have great need of your skills, you see!

[His neighbors must hate him some days.]

[roundandaround]

[Rinku lights up. She waves excitedly up at the window.]

Don't be silly! You don't need to pay when you're already in the audience!

[She giggles and lets Bedtime Bot and Dance Bot say their prerecorded lines.]

That's Rinku for you -- all fired up again today.

Seriously... But it looks like this human really needs our help.

Bad dream. Wonder why.

[That last line being from the ball robot Chipp gave her, whose lines had to be cut down severely.]

Yeah... it makes you wonder if something happened in the real world.

[The script has gone through plenty of rewrites for this. With a wave, Rinku pulls out her fairy wing harness and puts it on over her costume so she can fly up to Rui's window.]
